Hercules, Hippolyta, and the Twins. Hercules gets me districts quick, which is great for my Civs on new continents. Hippolyta is great in war bc she can give a unit a second charge in a turn. 4. Continents. Keepin' it simple with the Contintents map. These map types are some of my personal favorites; two continents of near equal size battling it out. I love this map for its simplicity and straightforward design. This map creates 2 continents and a couple of tiny islands.Island plates is one of my favorite map types. If you lower the sea level it can turn into a spindly pangaea, or if you raise it you get a less splintered archipelago. I probably play 80% fractal, 10% primordial, 10% seven seas. yeah it always seemed to me to be the most "realistic" of all the options.

Fractal or shuffle for a more exciting game, Continents with Islands for a more normal game, Mediterranean is the only preset map I like at all, it’s actually really fun. Large mediterranean, true start or not. It's by far the best map with the best geography. They made it extremely well, very large.
