You would be far better off to use the Remington SP20 wads or those made for 1 oz. loads by Gualandi, if you just have to use 1 oz. loads in the 20 ga. For whatever it's worth, in my opinion, anything over a 7/8 oz. load in the 20 ga. is a step backwards anyway. Personal experience shows a far better performance from a 7/8 oz. load, than from ... Mar 17, 2011 · I just went out and tried a 1 oz. load using the DRV20 wad. STS hull and W-209, 17.0 grs, Longshot, (Hodgdon lists from 16.3 to 18.0 using the WAA20F1), and 1 oz. #7-1/2 shot. Had to use a little bit of wad pressure, but it then fit and crimped very nicely. Just need to contact Hodgdon and get their blessing on the load. Shotgun World General Forums.
