It's probably your IWE actuator. This is the part that connects the wheel hub to the CV shaft when you use 4wd. 2015 f150 IWE. My IWE would make a grinding noise intermittently. The dealership said they was bad and replaced them. When I got the truck back it was making a humming noise that wasn't there before. The noise went away if I put it in 4 hi took it back and they said the new IWE was bad so replaced it again but that didn't fix the humming noise.
