Benelli is a much higher quality that franchi. But franchi is a solid budget semi auto. Benelli will stand behind there product until your grand children own than gun. Thats the major difference between higher end brands and middle of the road brand. Higher quality control and better service if things break.

I prefer the stock on my m2 better though. It has a much better recoil pad on it and I also like how the trigger is easier to reach. The Franchi just has a little more distance between the grip and the trigger. One other difference is the forearm is slimmer on the m2, but I have zero issues with the forearm on the affinity. The AL48 is Long Recoil operated and the UL is Inertia operated. They are both well made and reliable. The UL has the advantage of shooting any shell with in gauge without changing any rings for different loads. The UL also has a 3" chamber to the AL's 2 3/4 only. The AL holds five rounds total and the UL holds three.The a300 will shoot softer so it will help for high volume shooting or shooting with heavy loads. The only advantage to the M2 seems to be the comfortech stock resulting in less recoil. The only other discernible difference I've come across is the location of the recoil spring is in the stock for the M2 vs over the mag tube on the Affinity which makes them balance differently, and apparently is also a pain to get to on the M2.
