Ive actually found a workaround for this issue, you need to use "manage saves" instead of using the "continue" option. Then you can go to your position of choice and load it manually and that stupid position change issue shouldnt occur. Once that was complete and I backed out to the menu within the "Face of the Franchise", it showed my players overall rank at 73 versus the 90 it was prior to me conducting the side activities. I have no skill points nor do I have the abilities I unlocked.
